The ambassador, Marc Trouyet

H.E.M. Marc Trouyet serves as Ambassador of France to South Sudan since September 2019.

Mr. Trouyet has been a diplomat for almost twenty years. He served as Consul General of France in Toronto; Deputy Head of Mission of the French Embassy in Australia; Deputy Permanent Representative to the French United Nations Mission in Rome.
In Paris, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he headed the Department for Democratic Governance. He was previously the desk officer in charge of sustainable development in the United Nations division; and before that, he was a project officer working on modernizing consular services.

Before joining the Foreign Service, Mr. Trouyet held various positions in the Paris’ City Council. Prior to that, as a young graduate, he conducted various researches on town planning and urban issues.

A Graduate of l’Ecole Nationale d’Administration (ENA), Mr. Trouyet holds a Bachelor in Political Science (Science Po. Aix) and a Master in Town Planning (Paris-Créteil).

Marc Trouyet is married and has three children. He is a certified diver, passionate about science fiction and jazz.
